Monteverde Vecchio - Rome's best neighbourhood

Monteverde Vecchio is an up-scale, low-density, village-like neighborhood, just a stone's throw from the ancient Aurelian Walls which surround Rome's historic centre.

The area is well served by good restaurants, shops, supermarkets, parks, post office, banks and an open-air garden market in the immediate vicinity.

It's a short walk to the historic and bustling Trastevere quarter, where you can enjoy charateristic shops, restaurants, cafes and beautiful piazzas.

Monteverde Vecchio is served by Bus 75 which takes you direct to many of Rome's most interesting sites, including the Colosseum. Other transportation close by includes Bus 44 and the "QuattroVenti" underground train station.

You can also reach Old Rome and St Peter's Square (3 km) on foot along scenic routes passing through the beautiful Gianicolo area, or by taking Bus 870.
